How often should I wash a wool coat?
With the technique below, you can do it every time you consider it necessary. We roughly recommended 2 or 3 times per season.
How often should I wash a wool coat?
- Place the coat on a flat surface like a table.
- Get the products needed for washing:
- Mix the ammonia with the water in a bow
- Insert both the cleaning cloth and the brush in the container with ammonia
- Brush the coat from top to bottom, starting with the shoulders
- Use the cleaning cloth to clean the lining. Check it that it’s sufficiently drained.
- To dry the coat, hang it inside out. Once the lining dries, turn back to right side in.
- Once dry, brush carefully again.
Ammonia (better if scented to avoid its strong smell) it’s preferable if doesn’t contain detergent as it could damage or fade the garment,
lukewarm water (a liter and a half), special brush for clothing, fibre cleaning cloth.
Tip! Don’t use hot water with ammonia!
