Spring is here! Time to put away the jumpers and coats and swap them for dresses and blouses in cooler fabrics.
Today we’ll give you some tips to make decluttering your wardrobe and building a Spring capsule collection a success.
Declutter your wardrobe and show your style
Just as the new season starts, your wardrobe may be screaming for a bout of decluttering. Are you getting cold sweats just to think of it? It’s easy with our tips!
By decluttering we don’t just mean removing all those items that we have accumulated through the previous seasons, but ensuring that we are getting rid of anything that takes up space and energy. We believe this is a great way to have a calmer wardrobe (and why not, lifestyle!). As Spring starts, it’s time to do away with the old, in with the new, and replace all those clothes you don’t wear. Choose quality basics and a few trendy pieces for a shot of fashion energy.
What is on trend this season and what do we advise you buy for this Spring/Summer 2021?
Tops for your Spring wardrobe
Undoubtedly one of the seasonal must-haves that can’t be missing from your capsule wardrobe: tops in cooler fabrics, allowing us to leave the winter jumpers behind. These are the on-trend tops that should hang in your Spring wardrobe:
- A fine knit jumper in neutral tones, perfect for cool Spring mornings and evenings
- A white T-shirt with a slogan or motif to add a little extra something to any basic look
- Lightweight tops in floral prints, ideal to put a Spring in your step
The Spring trousers you must have in your wardrobe
The Sun’s finally got its hat on and you can alternate your jeans with other trousers in lighter fabrics. Here are some of our favourite trousers for this season:
Jeans are a must-have! We would never tell you to put your denim away; it’s a staple for any season! To give your outfit a more contemporary look, choose a classic pair of blue jeans that’s high-waisted and straight-cut. Wear your denim with printed T-shirts for a casual approach or pair it with a blazer for a more sophisticated touch.
It’s high time you got a pair of white trousers. For a seasonal update, choose a flared cut for a look that’s trendy without losing elegance.
For a look that’s as trendy as it is comfy, wear a pair of khaki green paperbag trousers and show off your waist. Pair them with a crisp white top or a seasonal blouse for top-of-the-class marks.
Essential Spring jackets and outerwear
There are two items your Spring wardrobe can’t be without: a blazer and a denim jacket. Your denim jacket is a classic: a versatile, easy-to-wear piece which you can throw over any casual look. As restrictions lift and we have more chance to go out, see friends, and maybe even return to the office, a blazer in any colour, but particularly in an earthy or sand tone, will help you build a multitude of stylish looks.
Two ideas to mix and match the items in your Spring capsule wardrobe
Is your Spring wardrobe complete? Good on you! With your chosen garments you’ll be able to create a multitude of perfect looks for any occasion. These are two of our favourites:
Orange blazer, slogan T-shirt and jeans
Your basic jeans can be the perfect base to create a seasonal look. This colourful look is the best example: check out that blazer! Add a pair of stilettos for a chic look or wear your favourite white trainers for a comfortable outfit suitable for any daytime date.
White flared trousers and floral print blouse
For these light Spring days, nothing feels better than choosing a floral look. As new cuts of denim seem to be taking centre stage thanks to the revival of vintage trends, wear a pair of flared trousers and dip your sartorial toe in a pool far, far away from skinny jeans. White trousers look amazing in the sunshine, have you got a pair?
