What colour do we refer to as peach?

The colour peach, also known as peachy or apricot, is a shade of pastel orange that inspires warmth, femininity, positivity and sweetness. Its name comes from the colour of the outer flesh of the peach fruit.

In its Pantone palette there are shades ranging from pinks to oranges, some with more dusty or greyish undertones, and others more golden or brownish.

According to colourimetry, who suits peach tones?

Peach is a colour that most definitely suits those women who have warm skin, with a sometimes delicate or sensitive feel. Their skin frequently has a golden base tone, and their eye colour tends to be blue or green, with blonde or red hair. These women are frequently described in colourimetry as Spring.

The whole palette of colours, ranging from orange to pink, are the ones that suit Spring women best: anything from peach, to orange or even red. Even so, and depending on the intensity of the peach tone that we choose, it can also work really well for women who identify themselves as Summer or Autumn, with more pale and powdery or intense tones like coral, respectively.

How can I wear peach tones?

If this summer you want to give this colour a try and you need to add a few items to your wardrobe, we have put together some tips to give you the key to choose what would work best in your wardrobe, for your style and body shape.

Peach dress

Choose a satin dress and wear it with a cross-body bag and sandals in classic camel. If you fancy adding some extra colour, a pair of maxi earrings in sky blue will do the trick. These three colours go amazingly together, and you’ll see them again and again. You’ll look great!

Peach top

Do like the Danish fashion influencers, and choose a coral top with puff sleeves, worn with white culotte jeans. Add a pair of white cat-eye glasses to match your mule shoes, and you’ll have a retro look that’s very on-trend.

Peach blazer

Blazers are a must for every season, so why not put aside the classic black or white blazer that you always wear and choose a straight-cut blazer in the shade of peach that flatters you most. It will look fun and refreshing when worn with paperbag shorts!

Peach jumper

For an effortless look, wear a fine knitted jumper in peach tones, with a white cami underneath if necessary, with your favourite mom jeans. Add a pair of flat sandals and you’ll have a comfortable and flattering look that’s perfect for your summer evenings!

Peach skirt

A pleated midi skirt in this colourway may not have been your first choice before reading this blog post, but if we told you to give it some pizazz by wearing it with a denim shirt and some espadrilles? We bet that would make you look twice!

Peach trousers or jeans

If you’re tired of your classic blue jeans, why not swap them for a pair of peach jeans or trousers in your favourite cut? Wear them with a cream knit top and finish off the look with a pair of kitten heels. Mixing formal and casual items in one look for a winning bet!

What colours go with peach?

Neutral colours are a safe way to mix and match peach tones. If you are ready to try something a little different, the range of blues is the one that best suits peach, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one. Whether you like to take risks or not, here are some different ways to combine this colour.

Monochrome peach looks

If you’re looking for a safe bet, opt for a monochrome outfit combining garments in the same peach tone or at least the same range. Why not try a peachy cami worn with a wrap ruffled skirt in the same colour? Finish off your look with some pumps in camel. A look that’s stunning in its simplicity, a flattering way to introduce peach into your wardrobe!

Peach and blue

A colour that can’t be overlooked if we are talking about wearing peach is sky blue. A feminine and delicate shade, it goes very well with peach. Choose a blue linen shirt, blue ballerinas, in the same or a darker shade, and a peach pleated skirt. Tick more than one trend in one fashionable sweep!

Peach and white

We all know that white is a basic colour that combines very well with almost every shade under the sun. Mixed with peach, the result is a bright and summery outfit that you can wear anywhere and everywhere. Choose a white blouse with puff sleeves, swap your trusty skinny jeans for some peach ones, and finish off your looks with a pair of flat white sandals: the result? A perfect look for this season.

Peach and mauve

Are you a fan of the colour-blocking trend? Take inspiration from the underwear as outerwear trend, and choose a mauve cami to add a sensual touch. Wear it with some peach culottes and camel pumps (flat or otherwise!). These three colours go together like a house on fire, and wearing them will help you radiate optimism all day long.

At Lookiero we want to inspire you to include peach shades in your everyday looks, so we have prepared some looks for you to dip your sartorial toe in this colour trend. Remember to let your Personal Shopper know if you fancy giving it a try. This summer, everything looks peachy!
